Parking and Maps
The 36th International Workshop on Languages and Compilers for Parallel Computing
October 11-13, 2023, Lexington, Kentucky, USA
There's a good chance your hotel is within walking distance of the Davis Marksbury Building, 329 Rose St, Lexington, KY 40508, so consider leaving your car (if you have one) at the hotel.
There is a surface parking lot next to Marksbury, but you can't park there without an "Employee" pass and the lot does fill up. Thus, the best place to park on campus is Parking Structure #5 (aka Cornerstone Garage), which is between two one-way roads: South Upper and South Limestone. That garage will give you a ticket when you enter, and you pay before exit. The cost is $2 per hour with a maximum of $16 per exit, but we might have passes to let you exit for free available (actually paid by the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering) at the workshop.
To walk from Parking Structure #5 to the Davis Marksbury Building is 0.6 miles and takes about 13 minutes (and you can save a block if you exit the garage on S. Limestone).
For lunch on your own, there are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the Marksbury Building, including QDOBA, Bangkok House, and El Mariachi all within a block. However, it is cheap and easy to eat at the Champions Kitchen and there is enough space to easily claim seating together. It is in the Gatton Student Center; to walk to the Champions Kitchen from Marksbury is about 0.3 miles and takes about 6 minutes.
There will be a chartered bus taking folks from the Davis Marksbury Building to Merrick Inn Restaurant for the banquet and back. Should you wish to drive there yourself instead, it is about 3.7 miles and about 12 minutes drive time.
To walk from the Davis Marksbury Building to Kentucky Native Cafe is 0.3 miles and takes about 7 minutes.
If you wish to visit the University of Kentucky Art Museum, 405 Rose St, Lexington, KY 40508, it is just a block away from Marksbury.
